Every feature of the extension has a switch, so you can use the parts you want and leave the rest. The switches live in the extension's toolbar menu.
Opening the menu
Click the extension's icon in Chrome's toolbar. If you can't see it, click Chrome's puzzle-piece icon and pin Toddle Enhancement Extension so it stays in view. If your school installed it for you, it may already be pinned.
What is in the menu
Your licence, at the top: whether you have one, and a link to the licence page (Licence details, or Enter a licence key if you have none). Without a licence there is a Buy one link.
Extension on: the master switch.
A switch for each feature, grouped by where it works in Toddle.
At the bottom: Send feedback, Help (which opens this help centre), and the version number, which opens what changed in that version.
The feature switches
Across Toddle
The student flags switch: concealing student flags for a shared screen. The same switch is in Toddle's top bar. See Concealing student flags for a shared screen. Free.
Student sidebar: click a student's name for their details, contacts and classes. Licence.
Home page
My classes filter: just your classes, in the course filter. Free.
Primary teacher names: beside each class, and on student profiles. Licence.
Gradebook
Gradebook tools: the per-criterion columns, the table view and the CSV export, from the gradebook's toolbar. Licence.
Attendance dashboard
Student details: under each name, the student's year group and the class they are in now. Licence.
A Licence badge marks the switches a licence unlocks. Without a licence they show as off, can't be changed, and say Locked: needs a licence. Your own choice is kept, and comes back once a licence is entered.
A change takes effect in your open Toddle tabs straight away. If a tab doesn't pick it up, reload it.
The master switch: Extension on
Off means off. With Extension on switched off, the extension leaves Toddle exactly as Toddle draws it: no gradebook columns, no CSV export, no sidebar, no teacher names, no My classes, no concealed flags, and no button of ours in Toddle's top bar. Every other switch in the menu is dimmed and can't be changed until you turn it back on.
This is useful when you want to see Toddle exactly as a colleague without the extension sees it, or to check whether something odd on a page is Toddle's or ours.
Remember: with the master switch off, student flags are not concealed either. Switch it back on before you share your screen.
Your settings stay on your computer
Your switches are saved in Chrome on the computer you set them on, and stay as you left them as you move around Toddle and across browser sessions. If you use Toddle on more than one computer, set your switches on each.
The welcome page that opened when you installed the extension has the same switches. Changing them there or in the menu is the same thing.
