What a licence unlocks
The student flags switch and the My classes filter are free. A licence unlocks the gradebook columns, the CSV export, the student sidebar, primary teacher names and the Attendance dashboard details.
Individual or organisation
Individual (US$5 a year): for one teacher. It is tied to the email address of that teacher's Toddle account.
Organisation (US$149.99 a year): one key for a whole school. It is tied to the school's email domain, the part after the @. It works for staff signed in to Toddle with an address at exactly that domain; subdomains are not included. A school with more than one domain can have them all on the same key.
A licence is tied to its owner
Each key says who it is for. The extension compares that with the account signed in to Toddle. It reads the account from the Toddle page you already have open, and the check happens in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere.
You can use the same key on more than one computer, such as your laptop and a classroom desktop, as long as you sign in to Toddle with the same account.
Keys issued before version 0.8.2 do not carry an owner. They keep working until they expire.
"This licence is for …"
If you are signed in to Toddle with a different account, the licensed features stay off. The licence page and the toolbar menu say:
"This licence is for [the licence's email or domain]; you're signed in to Toddle as another account."
To fix it, sign in to Toddle with the account the licence was bought for, then reload the Toddle tab. If your email address has changed, or you bought the licence with a personal address, write to [email protected] and we will reissue the key.
"Not yet checked against your Toddle account"
Right after you activate a key, the extension may not have seen your Toddle account yet. The licence works in the meantime, and the licence page says it will be checked the next time you open Toddle. Open a Toddle tab and it is confirmed.
The daily check for cancelled keys
Once a day, and only while a licence key is entered, the extension downloads a list of cancelled keys, signed by Nyuchi. It checks its own key against that list on your computer.
The request sends no key and no data: no email, no identifier, no cookies, nothing from Toddle.
Like any web request, it reaches the server from your computer's IP address.
If the check fails, for example because the network is down, the extension keeps working.
Without a licence key, the check never happens.
If your school filters outbound web traffic, your IT team should allow licences.nyuchi.dev so the check stays current.
If a key has been cancelled, the licence page says "This licence has been revoked", with a link to contact support. If you think that is a mistake, write to [email protected].
Refunds
You can have a full refund within 30 days of purchase, for any reason related to the product. Email [email protected] from the address you bought with, or ask through Buy Me a Coffee.
A refunded key is cancelled. It stops working after the extension's next daily check for cancelled keys.
When a licence ends
Licences run for a year. When one expires, the licensed features lock and the free ones keep working. Write to us to renew.
